Upcoming Product Reviews: Massacring Millions while Making Kids Giggle

By Ann Hunter on October 10, 2009

After an early launch for ConCrave and an unexpectedly quick creation of a strong reader base (thanks guys), our editors and product reviewers are shifting into overdrive to keep up with requests for product reviews and delivering our results to you.

In the next week, we'll be taking a look at several hot products to see if they'll stand up to the claims of their marketers.

Here's the upcoming list:

  • Oreck Halo. We'll have the new vacuum cleaner with its UV-C ability to massacre millions of microscopic beasties that cling to floors. We'll be doing our own bacteria test similar to the one conducted in the marketing videos.

  • Swinxs. This one looks pretty cool. It's a talking box thing-a-ma-jig that is coupled with RFID wristbands. Up to ten kids (or intoxicated adults) can play at a time with what looks to be an endless arsenal of live action games. For safety reasons, we'll be testing it on a cul-de-sac filled with kids and tell any liquored-up adults to wait their turn.

  • V-Moda Vibe II. While we wait for our review set of the new Faze headphones from V-Moda, we'll take a gander at the very cool, industrial-looking and noise-isolating Vibe II.

  • Picture Keeper. This product seems simple enough and that's its selling point, "a snap to save." A USB drive with embedded software that locates and backups pictures on both Macs and PC's. We'll be putting it to the test and if it works, we're going to randomly raid our neighbor's computers, steal their photos and post them to Flickr.

  • Sabi Games. With their children's game software making the advertising rounds on the tube, our astute yet Lilliputian reviewers will be taking a look at both ItzaZoo and ItzaBitza.

If we're actually able to get all of that done, we'll take quick looks at a few other things including a Heroes star's new iPhone App and the re-invention of the light bulb.

In addition to the above, we also have Shane Craver's ongoing review of the Food Lover's Fat Loss System. Don't tell him I said this but I don’t think it's going too well for him.

I'm honored and excited that you will be reviewing ItzaBitza and ItzaZoo. I'm a mom of two who feels strongly we can provide our kids with a way to read that is like making cupcakes. Cupcakes may be a little difficult for a younger person to make - and who wants to clean up? But the reward is worth it! This is the spirit we created the Itza games in. Imagine if all children craved reading?

Please let me know if I can answer questions. Look forward to your feedback.
Margaret.

The vacuum sounds interesting. I think I remember another Halo on the market that did that. Did Oreck buy it?
