Unreleased Frightfest, Paranormal Activity, launching in Abnormal Way

By Shane Craver on October 7, 2009

Directed, written and edited by Oren Peli, Paramount Pictures’ new film, Paranormal Activity is a story of a young couple breaking in their starter home to unusual activity. The story is very close to home to Peli as the film was literally shot in his home.

The film has received legitimate reviews such as the one from Rolling Stone calling it, “a potent frightfest that will fry your nerves and creep you out.”

While scary movies released near Halloween are a dime-a-dozen over the years, Paranormal Activity’s release data is uncertain and a mystery even to the films producers.

The powers-that-be behind the movie have created a unique marketing campaign to promote the movie. Once 1,000,000 “demands” have been made for a national release, the film will open across the nation.

It’s the first movie to be released by the Internet.

Demands can be made through partnership with the Web site Eventful.com.

As of this writing, 506,255 demands have been made for the release.

View the trailer below then feel free to make a demand of your own using the widget below the video.
