? They are celebrating a battle victory that is only minimally celebrated in Mexico actually. How is this so important to there heritage and culture. That's like saying the Battle of Lexington and Concord is important to American heritage. Ask yourself how many Americans know what that battle is without looking it up. When Mexican flags start getting burned at American schools on the Mexican Independence Day (09/16) then come talk to me.

These Hispanic kids(Anchor Babies) were protesting and demonstrating as if they are Mexican Nationals living in the USA! This is what we should understand ...In their minds they ARE citizens of Mexico and that their first loyalty is to Mexico NOT the USA! Yes, perhaps those first five students showed a lack of taste but like ConCrave Reader2 said in their very relavent post, Cinco de Mayo is likely more celebrated by college-aged binge drinkers (of all races) than Hispanic nationalists. Each and everyone of those students that were involved in the protest march should have been sent home and suspended! 5 boy's were sent home for wearing the American flag, but these students walked out of class and off campus and all they recieved was being led to a auditorium for a discussion?!!!!!! They, and ever bleeding heart liberal out there, say we cannot deport them, and the reason they come to America is because of how horrid it is in Mexico, yet the only pride or respect the have for anything is for Mexico. Why not take that pride, and go make your country a place you could be proud of and not flee from.

If America were to get so bad one day that I felt I needed to flee and risk the lives of my family to escape what was happening there, I would not go into the new country flying the American flag and carrying on like they do...

Why weren't the Mexican children arrested for inciting a riot? 40% hispanic or not, the law is the law and it should be strictly enforced. The 200+ Mexican children should have been arrested and their parents required to come to the jail, show ID, and proof of citizenship in order to pick their children up. No ID, then kids and parents should have been held and deported. This is America....not Mexico, fly the red, white and blue if this is your home. If it's not, then take your red green and white and GO HOME!!! I stand behind Arizona's new law and I sincerely hope Texas and the other border states follow soon.

On May 5th, 1862, At the city of Puebla, Mexican forces defeated an attack by the much larger (2 to 1) French army. Although they beat the French that day, twelve days later they were routed and chased from the city. Also, that small victory only delayed the French advance on Mexico City for another year. A few years later France left Mexico at the "request" of the U.S. The U.S. President at the time, Andrew Johnson, sent 50,000 troops the U.S. and Mexican border to show France we protested their occupation, and later we went in and helped beat the French (they probably surrendered) and they left a few years later.
Oh, by the way, the only reason France and other European countries (not just France) invaded Mexico in the first place was because Mexico defaulted on interest payments on loans from these countries. Not the principal, just the interest. So if Mexico had just paid it's debt, none of this would ever have happened. So let's get this straight. First, Mexico defaults on loans from several European nations. Then they get invaded by their rightfully upset creditors. Then the U.S. comes down and not just helps, but does most of the work in getting the French to leave. It took years of fighting, political arm-twisting, and bribery to get it done, and then the Mexicans take all the credit. American lives were lost while liberating Mexico from the French. Do we get any thanks now? No, we get booming stereos, honking horns, low-riders, and attitude from idiot teens. Really. Swear to god, you can look it up. I really have to wonder what is up with a school official . Where in the hell does he have the right to punish students for showing their allegiance to the nation they love . Those students that walked out and protested today should be suspended. Funny thing is in the states Cinco de Mayo is on the same level as St. Patrick's Day. It is not a holiday here but a day to remember heritage but you don't see the Irish getting mad if they see an American flag worn on that day. While yes remembering your heritage is important and yes remembering that Mexico won its freedom from France is important to remember even most Mexicans will tell you that cinco de mayo is a minor holiday in their country and there are more important ones to celebrate.

So, the four boys were sent home for wearing clothing with the American flag on them but these students leave class and school property without consent and they were not punished? Something is really wrong with this school and it needs to be taken over by the state and have the current administration removed. This is hardly the tip of the iceberg. I have been fighting that same Morgan Hill school district for over two years over (reverse) discrimination! It's just that this incident hit the media airwaves. The other multiple issues with that district discriminating; are just as newsworthy, and just as wrong! The districts late apology simply does not ring true!

Five students exercised their First Amendment Right and wore the clothing of their choice. The Hispanic students cry it was suppose to be "their day". I am curious as if those same Hispanic students whined with the American flag hanging out front, intead of a MX flag. But the five students were chastized and punished for exercising their First Amendment Rights, while those of the Hispanic community were allowed to exercise their First Amendment rights. Then, 200 Hispanic students break school rules by walking out of class, and marching in the street, breaking criminal law now, and having an organized protest. So will they be chastized and punished for breaking written school rules and city laws? *crickets* Preferential treatement or ridicule due to class, race, ethnicity, religion is a violation of our US Constitution. Where is the ACLU in all of this? Who's protecting the Whites from racism from the Hispanics? Oh an to the Hispanic students that marched; put on your big MX panties and deal with it. The US Constitution is for all, not just some. Additionally, since the Hispanic students think they are entited to "their" day, I fully expect to see American flags flying in Mexico to celebrate OUR day, the Fourth of July. Heck, I bet most of these kids don't even know the reason for Cinco de Mayo, a celebration of their defeat over France, a day of independence of liberty and freedom. Mexican is not a race...it is an ethnicity. Please tell me why kids/adults join groups based on race and ethnicity alone. My son is autistic and barely speaks. When I picked him up from school today, his teacher told him to tell me "Dia de los Madres"- My mouth hit the floor. Can we teach our kids ENGLISH first? All day today I have been saying to him, "Happy Mother's Day" trying to get that crap out of his head. I am so sick and tired of having to apologize for being white.

The American people are simmering with anger at what's going on in this country and it's starting to boil over. Why? First, our govt is ignoring it's own laws. It's illegal to stay in this country yet millions do and more come in every day. Second, we are being used and it makes us mad. We pay taxes while illegals get away with jobs under the table. Lower wages inhibit Americans from getting jobs. They also use our hospitals without paying anything, which raises the cost of medical care for the rest of us. They have children here who get immediate citizenship and then qualify for social services. Some lack respect for this country and think they deserve special treatment, thus the marching and protests. Then, there's the drug smuggling and crime which has filled our prisons. Another taxpayer cost. People get mad when they feel they're being used. Are we being used? Sure seems like it and the problem lies with our elected officials who allow this travesty to go on. Put our officials feet to the fire!

Yes, La Raza Unita ("The United Race") is not racist, right? But when Americans get upset about Mexicans coming here and flying their Mexican flag, WE are called "racist!" Wait a minute! "Mexican" is not a race -- it is a NATIONALITY! And "Hispanic/Latino" is not a race -- it is an "ETHNICITY!" Even the Census Bureau says that Latinos are white! But La Raza Unida and La Voz de Aztlan call themselves a "bronze" race. BTW, did you know that, according to the federal government, there are only two "ethnicities" in the world? They are Hispanic/Latino and non-Hispanic/Latino. That's it.
